SCHOOL MOTTO

"TIMOR DEI EST INITIUM SAPIENTIAE" - The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.

Appropriately, it has become the school's motto for it signifies fear, filial love, awe, and profound reverence for the Divine Source of Wisdom, Grace and Life.

COLOR

Yellow Gold, the color of warmth and harmony, is CDSA's official color. It stands for solidarity to carry the mission-vision of the institution. St. Anne, with her daughter, Mary, shows an example of overflowing love. It symbolizes the goals and objectives of CDSA to mold a child to become a very responsible and loving person.

HISTORY

It all started with a simple vision – to establish an institution that would help in the Catholic formation and educational enhancement of parishioners and common folks alike for the native Taguigeños. It was in the early 1980s that this idea sprang from Rt. Rev. Msgr. Augurio Juta, a resident parish priest of St. Anne with the assistance of Rev. Mother Maria Josefina C. Yamzon, RVM, then Superior General of the Congregation of the Religious of the Virgin Mary. With its humble vision, the institution then called Sta. Ana Parochial School was established.

1980-1985

In June 1980, preparatory courses for nursery and kindergarten were opened simultaneously, with Sis. Ma. Josefina C. Campos, RVM, as the pioneer teacher, with the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) permit to operate from Nursery to Grade One. To strengthen the foundation further and to meet the growing demand, the director sought the assistance and support from a mandated organization, the Manila Archdiocesan and Parochial Schools Association (MAPSA), in January 1982. This membership formalized the contract agreed upon by the Roman Catholic Archbishops of Manila, as represented by Jaime Cardinal L. Sin and the Sta. Ana Parochial School Administration as represented by Rev. Mother Ma. Josefina C. Yamzon, RVM. To follow up on this formalization, Sta. Ana Parochial School filed its Articles of Incorporation with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 8, 1982, created its policy-making body and completed its by-laws by January 31, 1985.

A rigorous construction occurred in between these years, not to mention the employ of lay teachers to meet the volume of enrollees.

On March 19, 1985, Fr. Augurio l. Juta died, and the directorship was succeeded by Msgr. Emmanuel Sunga, H.P., who was installed on the 25th of the same month.

1986-1992

Sta. Ana Parochial School was given the government recognition on August 8 (for the Nursery and Kinder) and on June 24, (Complete Elementary course) both in 1986. Msgr. Sunga pursued the creation of more rooms and established the dream of housing the high school department by way of creating the ‘St. Anne Building’, which formally opened and was blessed on May 15, 1988 by Bishop Manuel Sobreviñas. Now, Taguig already has a Catholic High School.

After years of operation under a temporary permit from the DECS, the recognition was granted to the high school department on December 10, 1991 with Sis. Ma. Auxencia P. Bitangjol, RVM, as the Principal both for the high school and the elementary department.

Enrollment rate kept on its increasing pace from 1987's, 870 students to over a thousand, from thereon. The construction of the rooms fronting the church plaza, the gymnasium and the church compound and the approval of St. Anne Parish as the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Anne in August 1989 were just some of the highlights of Msgr. Sunga's directorship.

On April 2, 1990, Msgr. Isidro Jose took over as director with his formal installation on May 6 of the same year. In 1990, approximately 1,365 students were enrolled in Sta. Ana Parochial School.

1993-1997

Rev. Fr. Lucio B. Odiver was appointed the Sta. Ana Parochial School director on January 3, 1993. After over a month, he immediately ordered the construction of the three-storey classroom for the Kinder level which was blessed on June 6, 1993 by Rev. Fr. Odiver himself. To continue the feat of the institution, also with the guidance of the newly appointed Principal in 1992, Sis. Ma. Nelly A. Aninon, 104 or 100% of the Sta. Ana Parochial School elementary students who took the first National Elementary Assessment Test (NEAT) passed and all the Secondary Graduating students also passed the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE).

Sr. Ma. Jacinta J. Chavez, RVM, became the principal of Sta. Ana Parochial School (SAPS) starting school year 1995–1996 with the enrollment steadily increasing, even reaching 1,628. The administration was modified in school year 1997–1998 with the delegation of two principals – one for each department. The high school department was headed by Sr. Ma. Teresita C. Camartin, RVM while Sr. Ma. Lunda F. Fesalbon, RVM was assigned to be the Principal for the Elementary department. Jaime Cardinal Sin visited the institution once again for the blessing of the newly constructed offices and facilities which included the Principal's Office, the Faculty room, the Medical/Dental clinic, the two (2) comfort rooms both for the faculty and the students, and the boys' quarters on July 14, 1997, in dedication to its late founder, Msgr. Augurio Juta. The unveiling and dedication ceremony was done on March 5, 1998, coinciding with the 13th anniversary of the death of its founder. Sr. Ma. Elisa N. Forbes, RVM and Sr. Ma. Milagros S. Sealonggo, RVM, Principals for the high school and elementary respectively, gave way to the organization of the Student Coordinating Council (High School) and the Kiddie Government (Elementary). Another remarkable achievement for the year is the launching of the school paper, Vox Veritatis, with its initial release in January 1998.

1998-2003

The school year 1998–1999 also called the ‘CENTENNIAL YEAR’, bore a new administration led by lay administrators in the person of Mrs. Amparo R. Delute as High School Principal and Mrs. Milagros R. Fugen, Elementary Principal.

School year 1999–2000 or the JUBILEE YEAR or THE YEAR OF GOD, THE FATHER was the year that the name Sta. Ana Parochial School was changed to Colegio de Sta. Ana. This year also commenced the creation of the new building adjacent to the St. Anne building, and the realization of the Audiovisual Room in the 4th floor.

The full creation of the 4th floor for the incoming 4th year students marked some of the achievements of Msgr. Lucio B. Odiver before he resigned in 2002. Rev. Fr. Roy M. Rosales lit the torch as director officially on March 15, 2002. With Rev. Father Rosales, the offices of Colegio de Sta. Ana were all made to be air-conditioned and most offices were converted to more suitable stations for work. The finishing of the Audiovisual Room, the improvement of the laboratories and most facilities materialized this year. In 2003, a new set of school uniform for boys and girls was implemented to establish the image of the CDSA students and its banner color, gold.

2004-2006

The Silver Jubilee Celebration sparked the school year 2004–2005 with the gathering of the significant figures in the foundation of the now household name, Colegio de Sta. Ana.

After Rev. Fr. Roy swerved in a new direction, Fr. Paul Balagtas succeeded the directorship after a short stay as director by Fr. Amando Litana. Fr. Paul was officially installed as the new director in October 2005. This year has even more strengthened the vision of the founders, and the administrators after them, to foster a quality Catholic education to the youth of the 21st century. Not resting of the laurels of the previous years, the students and the school continue to reap honors and achievements both in academic and extracurricular contests in and out of the campus. One proof of this is CDSA emerging as champion in the Pasig Diocesan School System's Olympics.

The year has showered laurels for the school with major academic and co-curricular achievements by the students. With wins for the National Schools Press Conference (where only CDSA represented the Division in the Regional and National level) and the Brainstorm (with two consecutive wins).

Colegio de Santa Ana also participated major cultural events like the PaDSS ECE Cultural Show, Bishop San Diego's birthday celebration,

2007-2010

"Ananians: Men for Others and for the Environment" is the theme for the year. Several activities were lined up to achieve the theme like tree planting, reaching out to the orphanage where students actively participated, and giving gifts to the community.

Fr. Paul G. Balagtas also brought the idea of placing plant boxes around the quadrangle and in front of the offices and having a small pond under the mango tree where fish can be seen.

The introduction of the Curriculum Pacing Guide gave way to the ten graduate attributes which are as follows:

On May 11, 2009, a new breed of leaders were introduced to the school in the persons of Rev. Fr. Salvador O. Yun, the new school director and Mrs. Lennie A. Montevirgen both are young and very determined to come up with a lot of surprises for the betterment of the school.

A lot of improvements in the school facilities are made to happen this year. The Guidance and Counseling Office and the Medical Department are given much deserving renovations. The offices look roomy in spite of the small space because it is divided into cubicles. Another improvement is the newly constructed High School Computer Laboratory, installed at the 4th floor of the St. Anne Building. This project was made possible through the generous support of the parents and students of CDSA during the Mr. and Ms. CDSA campaign. Total cost of this laboratory is more than Php 1.5 million. The old Computer Laboratory, exclusively for the Elementary pupils in the Marian Building, will undergo renovations too. A total of 53 computer units are purchased for the new laboratory. The canteen extension is converted into a Mini-Conference room. the entire room is renovated and air-condition is installed for a more comfortable place for a small gathering.

The sudden demise of Rev. Fr. Salvador O. Yun surprised and saddened the whole community. Everyone mourned for his death. He left the school with no parting words. Rev. Fr. Orlando Cantillon took a short stay as the school's director until finally on September 1, 2010, Rev. Fr. Amando N. Litana was officially installed as the new director of the school.

2011-2016

With the direction of Rev. Fr. Amando N. Litana, school year 2011-2012 is a remarkable year for the whole institution. It gave more educational, social and spiritual experiences for the students, parents and personnel.

The academic programs and activities were geared toward this year's theme "CDSA@32: REALIZING TOTAL QUALITY SERVICE and STRENGTHENING SPIRITUALITY in the COMMUNITY" which was more highlighted during the celebration of the Foundation where everyone was tapped to participate.

Refurbishing of the school's facilities was done and installation of air-conditioning units to all classrooms was made to happen. The school also participated in the initial implementation of Taguig Learner's Certificate of the Local Government of Taguig.

The succeeding year focuses more on the improvements of the facilities and providing more formations to the community as the school believes in this year's theme "A Passion for Change, A Commitment to Service in the Year of Faith."

K to 12 program is implemented together with the launching of the Year of Faith in the Catholic Church. The school is granted Certification from Fund for Assistance to Private Education (FAPE) and is now an ESC participating school in which fifty (50) students were given scholarship.

The school is also taking its initial preparation for Institutional Self Survey for PAASCU accreditation. The Faculty Room beside the Principal's Office is converted into a Repository Room. The programs for each department is made clearer and modified.

The school continues to progress as it has managed to increase enrolment for the year 2013-2014 with the theme "Rediscover the Faith and Evangelize the Youth through Catholic Education." The year is highlighted by the Pastoral Visit made by Bp. Mylo Hubert Vergara. It is an opportunity for the entire community to talk to the Bishop up close and personal in which the result is discussed in the Boart of Trustees Meeting.

School Year 2014-2015, with the theme "I come... I find... I stay FAITHFUL in MISSION" highlighted three important achievements, namely:

PaDSS (Pasig Diocesan School System) member schools are clustered for School Year 2015-2016. Rev. Fr. Orlando B. Cantillon is assigned to be the Director of five schools namely CDSA, SNCS, BPS, HFPS and SNPS.

A lot of changes and renovations have been made. Concessionaire in the canteen is introduced with the use of chips (token). CCTV cameras have been installed as well as Smart TV to selected classrooms. Senior High School permit was granted to CDSA to offer Academic Track with Accountancy and Business Management Strand and General Academics and Tech-Vocational Track with Information and Communication Technology Strand.

All programs and activities are geared towards the realization of the institutional theme "Be with the Poor, be like Jesus and Be Missionaries of the Gospel." To highlight the year, the CIE Department in coordination with the SCB and student leaders led the feeding program with Catechism, Medical and Dental assistance. The Grade 10 students successfully brought laurels and Grade 6 pupils grabbed 1st place in the PaDSS Quiz Bee. In Sports, Men's Volleyball hailed as APSA-TAPAT and PaDSS Three-peat Champion.

PaDSS Administrators had its annual strategic planning in Tagaytay last November 22-24, 2016. The result of which is the revision of Vision and Mission which will be adopted by the member schools.
